Group 6 (Q, Chandler, Sara, Brandon)

This group focused on where people tend to eat in the atrium. Lots of their facts came from their survey , which said that more people feel awkward eating by themselves. The beginning of the presentation was good since it included pieces of humor. Towards the end, the speaking was quiet and the presentation seemed to slow down. Overall, the presentation was well put together with the relation of their speaking and slides.

Group Four (Kristen, Stephanie)

This group did their presentation over the shuttles at Ball State. The thesis was broad, which made their statistics scattered around. The thesis seemed to be why people ride the shuttle. It was interesting however, to see how many people thank the drivers and why some people use certain shuttles over others. The speaking was fine but there were only a couple of slow parts in the presentation.

Group Three (Glenda, Dan)

This group researched why students go to the library. The statement seemed broad at first but began narrowing down towards the end of the presentation. At the beginning, the words were not matching up with the slides but all information was given. This group also received different information from their surveys than the other library groups, but this was a good thing since their thesis fit all points.

Group Two

The group that did their presentation over the dining in Lafollette did a very good job sorting out and putting their information together. I really liked the way the interview and some quotes were included in their presentation. The thesis at first seemed to be unclear but towards the end of their presentation, everything was cleared up.

Group One

The first group that went, did a good job gathering information and relating it to their thesis. This group focused on which floors students usually go to study at. Their presentation seemed to flow very well and had lots of statistics to back up their opinions. Also it was interesting to see the stats that another group came up with, in terms of Bracken Library.

Presentations

All of the presentations in class seemed to go rather well. It was cool to see and look at the variety of answers that people received from their surveys. I was surprised in our own presentation because of the facts which we obtained as a group. Learning that there are more females that go to the library, more guys listen to music, and that more people go to the library to work on projects rather than study alone. Some of our results from the survey contradicted each other, but I figure the stats would change if more people could have taken it.

Group Project

So far our project is beginning to come along a little better than expected. So far we have our basic outline of what it is we are going to look at within the library. Knowing what we are going to do also helps us with what questions we will ask people in the interviews. As of now, our claim is the only thing we seem to be struggling on. We are not sure if we want to look at how gender affects the way people are in the library, or if we want to look at the social, educational, and entertainment purposes of the library. Both sides have their pros and cons but so far both arguments may be unclear.
